I am working on an 8K project, and had to install NewBlue Titler Pro (as title tool currently is not working in 8K). I have added a text message-text to the screen, and I want the text to track to the motion of the cell phone:
I have tried:
* To find a tracking tool in NewBlue Titler Pro
* To add effects (resize/3D warp) in Avid to the Titler Pro-title
* Google/youtube/avid forum search
Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. This is also my first post in the forum, and I hope have posted in the right thread.
I would also like to be able to motion track a NewBlue Titler title, however I don't think it includes any motion tracking. You can move images between two keyframes, and that might be okay for some simple tracking instances, but not in all cases.
I haven't tried it, but I wondered if the only way may be to create your NewBlue title against a green screen, mix it down and then apply a chromakey along with the usual Avid motion tracking.
I see this was April last year, did you manage to achieve what you wanted?
Hi Nigel, and thanks for your input. The shot was cut before i had to figure out. Will update here if i find solution.

Thanks for responding Henrik. I've been in touch with NewBlue and they replied to say "We do not currently have a motion tracking feature. Thank you for the suggestion though."
If I find a workaround I'll be sure to post it here.
Import the text as a png and track that?
Honestly I hate editing.
That is an option - albeit a more complicated one than I had hoped for :)
Thanks for your comment Addinski.
A PNG file would just be a static image though wouldn't it? One of the best things about Titler Pro titles is the powerful animation that can be applied, and certainly in my case I need to motion track an animated title.
A little bit of digging reveals that there is such a thing as an APNG file - Animated Portable Network Graphics. However I doubt that Titler Pro can output such a file unfortunatly. I'm not sure whether Avid would be able to import an APNG file either.
Ok, then render the animation, export that incl. alpha via QUICKTIME DNxHR (or try video mixdown), then reimport and track that video?
good luck.
Andre.
Thanks Andre. I'm fairly sure that a mixdown would lose the alpha, an export to DNxHR sounds like it could work though, however I can't see any option in Avid MC's File > Output > Export to file, do you know for sure that this is possible?
I only have mc 8.3. Since 8.4 exporting with alpha via DNXHR should be possible. Use quicktime and the choose the appropriate codec...
Hmmm...yes...there's a "Send to QT Movie", and it's possible to change the settings where DNxHD and DNxHR are available, this may just work
I'll give it a go (though sadly not for a few days).
