In the past my masterclip icons would indicate that the media linked to these clips lived on an ISIS drive by having little lines beneath the masterclip icon. When the ISIS drives were unmounted, these lines would disappear, displaying as a regular master clip, but indicating to me that the media was offline without actually clicking on the clip to check.
I'm on a project now using Media Composer v8.9.1 and ISIS Client Manager v4.7.11.16275. But the clips with media online from the ISIS drives don't have these lines at the bottom indicating that they're online. Is this a setting that can be turned off and on? I would like to be able to see what's online just by looking at the clip icons.
Did you ever find an answer to this? Same thing happened to me. El cap, 8.9.1
I have a strong suspision this was because we were still on an old shared storage (ISIS) but using a newer Media Composer. All the Avids that were linking to media on the newer shared storage client manager (NEXIS) displayed the little lines under the masterclip icons, indicating they were online.
Huh, we were on ISIS, but recently moved to NEXIS. But this one machine (out of about 6) still has no "little feet" shared storage icons. Can't figure out why.
Different version of Media Composer from the rest maybe?
Same version types of MC? If one is “standard” MC, that does not support shared storage, only Ultimate and Perpetual do.

If you do a reveal of the media is it actually on a workspace? What version of ISIS is the System Director? I would encourage you to use the NEXIS client, the ISIS client hasn't been updated in years.

Yes, media is online, and revealing it shows the files in the finder on the NEXIS workspace. It's Nexis now, latest version. Yes, Nexis client.

Do all the folders in the MXF folder have the name of a computer? I.E. EditA.1, EditB.1.... Are there any folders with only numbers? Is the media in a folder with the computer's name? Can you type AllDrives into the console? What does it say?
My guess is there's some type of Network and/or file system driver loaded that's intercepting the workspace. I've seen FUSE for macOS do this on a Mac. In this case, the workspace was seen as a local drive by Media Composer and was placing media in a numbered folder without the computer name.
Hmm, that is a very promising notion. All the folders in the workspace have client computer names. But I'll have to think through all the software on this client to see if there could be something making composer think of it as a local drive. Can't think of anything new installed off the top of my head. Thanks.
