Re: Mp4 link/importing issues go pro ish footage

First workaround if I convert the MP4 raw files to a .mov with  h264 codec it will not open BUT If I convert to a .mov with a mpeg4 codec it will load and now I am Transcoding will see big process to get footage in with the proliferation of these cheep cameras we need to find a better way    EDIT UPDATE Trancoded file plays great  so for now my mbp will become my offline converter /transcoding mach

.mp4-Files sometimes refuse to link. Just rename them to .mov. No conversion necessary.

Or use GoPro-Studio, it offers some nice features for GoPro-material.

@Tom Pearson: MC will never play native H.264-based media well. As you discovered, always transcode to a Avid-based codec before beginning.

Isaac, I always transcode to Avid codecs but the issue here was they would not open and would stall the machine > I am going to try Der Doyles suggestion and will report back

GoPro Studio works with a lot of files from different sources but it offers typical GoPro features like fish eye removal.

I use GoPro Studio for converting DJI-Footage or for some framerate-conversions. You can use it as a simple conversion tool.

But I think your problem is solved with naming your files in .mov.

In macOS some newer mp4-files have problems playing in the old QT7-Player, but they work fine in QTX.
