    Get a current x299 system.  I often max out my 7820x 8 core when transcoding, so today I'd get a 10 core (7900x), or 14 core (7940x), they go up to 18 though.

    And if I wanted a super low budget build I'd get a coffee lake 8700k build.

    I've built so many media composer computers over the years and they all work flawlessly (except when I tried w/ ryzen).  If you want a name brand and not custom built, you can probably still go with what I said above.
