    Volume License Server OS Compatibility

    Hello,

I can no longer run windows 7 at my institution. Is it acceptable to run flexnet on Windows 10? Anyone have any success running a Volume license server on a modern windows OS?

the most recent readme i can find says Windows XP sp3 or Server 2003 sp1 or higher. I'd go for server 2012 or 2016 if available, over win10, but if you have a license server, surely you should have a support contract and can pass this question through engineering for more official answers?

Yeah sadly support is useless when it comes to this. They tell me that I need to try to run it myself on a windows 10 machine. I've requested that it be pushed as a feature request or to have an Avid employee check compatibility before I go and setup a windows 10 machine. Not sure why we're supposed to still live in the stoneage with our 50 seat license. Windows 7 is EOL Januaray 2020, thats right around the corner!

The most recent readme will be updated....

the answer to your question is.......

Yes re: Win 10.   The volume license server is very lightweight and works on all flavors of Windows, including Windows 10.
