    Is this a licensing Issue?

I has MC 6.0.5 running fine on my desktop under Windows 7.

Following BSOD issues i decided to install Windows 10 but did not get chance to de-authorise MC before Windows was upgraded.

I then de-installed MC in Windows 10 and clicked on the option to de-authourise MC befoe un-nstalling it.

I then installed MC 6.0.5 on my Windows 7 laptop and it will not start up. Clicking on the desktop icon  results eventually in a message saying MC is not responding.

How can I find out what is going wrong and is this related to licensing?

Re: Is this a licensing Issue?

Hi John, if it was a licensing issue You'd know by a startup message box asking to activate the software, and/or offering a 30 days trial. You do not even reach that stage, so my best guess is that the problem lies somewhere else. Is this a certified laptop? Is it fitted with an nVidia 'card'? Is it running the proper QuickTime version for MC 6.0.5? More specs about Your hardware and the software environment please.

    Lucaa

Thanks for a very quick reply.

I failed to check if this was a qualified laptop and its not, but my desktop is not on the list either which ran OK.

The Laptop is a Dell Studio 1558, with and Intel i5 M430 CPU. It has 4GB ram and runs Windows 7, SP1 64bit. It has an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500/5100 Graphics card with 8.970.100.1100 driver and Quick Time version 7.79.80.95.

    Marianna

Hi and thanks for your response.

Checking today, MC will still not start up.

I was not confident that I had deactivated it properly on the desktop as when I clicked on the top deactivate button all I got was a red X that appeared next to the button. Not sure what to expect here.

Are there any log files that I can check to ry to identify the start up issues?

This might be the troublemaker, MC First could have been less choosy than the real thing, who knows. Let's wait for Marianna checking Your status, we'll try to trobleshoot soon after.
