I've tried rebuilding the server with a supplied ISIS5000 image (Windows Storage Server) without any luck. I still have the same error in that the raid set fails to iniatlize by the installer:
System event log viewer shows: Warning after 5 attempts the product type is still UNKNOWN. Is there anymore information on the Raid controller interms of software/firware version, raid card type/models, slot config etc?
HEllo,
What was the ISIS version prior to the upgrade ? ISIS 4.1 ? 4.2 ?
Cause after ISIS 4.5 or If the product number is not set or set incorrectly,RaidConfig is regarded to fail.
(wich seems to be the case )
Thank you for your reply. This indeed sounds like the exact problem that i'm having. Where/how do I correct this?
I've reinstalled ISIS 4.0.3 (4.2 client) and everything works as I expect. The problem is definately to do with this product type. The old hdraid.exe reports the same error, but assumes it's US_TYPE_ISIS5000 and continues to setup and work properly. See here:
As soon as I try to install 4.5 or above, i'm back to the same error and it fails to setup or continue. See here:
Open a support case explaining you problem:
"ISIS5000, during an upgrade to 4.7 Raid Set configuration status is error/warning. In the event log, there is an error message saying "Avid ISIS Raid configuration tool could not be found". Product server type could not be determined from part number 7030-30044-75"
The only way To fix the error, his to re-enter the PN using an USB bootable key
Hi Cazzimir,
Do you know if this is documented anywhere?
Thanks,

Ouch! ok thank you for the info. Have you done this personally or have you heard of another instance where this has happened? I'll use this info to give to Avid to support my case

Ditto.
Hello,
Sorry for the delay,I was off with no internet connection...
I had this case once when replacing the riser card of a ISIS 5000 I guess it's not documented, normally you just need to re image the ISIS to make it working again..
I guess the support will and find the case number 02319025

Come to think of it, I beleive we had a risers replace in these chassis too back in 2013 when they were oringinally purchased for The Great Gatesby. It was part of some product recall or possible issue when upgrading there was risk of losing the raid IIRC. Thank you again.

Thanks Jereon and Cazzimir for helping Rob out!
