Re: XDCam import. How do you do it?

No, my tests were with XDCam 50, not EX. Glad I stumbled onto this thread and checked.  I have a big XDCam50 job coming and was getting ready to switch several machines to 8.9.3.

Oh well.  This is why we test.

Have you got the latest Sony XDCAM disk software?  I seem to remember one of the early 8.9.x versions required that.
FWIW with the PC's here I am using nablet_XAVC_XDCAM_AMA_Plugin_Setup_Win_4.5.0.1252.

I downloaded and installed right before my test.  It was ver 4.5.2 I believe.

    tried with 8.9.4?
If "it" is refering to XDCAM HD at 50mbs then here are the results of a test just now. Using as a source an XDCAM HD Disk and an ancient PDW-U1.    MC 8.9.4.  tested installed on W7 SP1 then repeated with 8.9.4 on W10
I had Enable legacy Import which in theory should stop Linking.  All the clips on the disk (selecting H:\clips) imported as both Proxy and 50MB. (A setting checked to force Prox and Full Res enabled.)It was fairly slow to link and each linked clip took about 5 seconds to load from bin to Source monitor.  (The U1 is USB 2 only)

For "Legacy importing. Proxies came in quicker than the Linking above!!
Then Batch Re-import selected clips worked
    Batch Re-Import from Timeline works.

For EX I only have 35MB media on backup drives and not able to test this at this time.

I second Andrew's findings. Also no EX to test here.

Most of the MC/NC, Interplay, Nexis, ISIS, Unity stuff. [view my complete system specs]
