Attention Avid Media Composer owners: If you have an Avid Media Composer Perpetual license with a current Avid Standard Support plan this is your opportunity to add the Symphony Option for just $99!
Yup, I do wish they would stop xxxxing about and include the Symphony tools in MC for all.
Why include it when you can sell it?
Of course subscription users get it anyway...
I gather this offer has expired as its not on the Avid store website and perviously it was stated as ending in June 9or was it July?)
So I assume videoguys have "stock" to sell so its still available from them. or they have an arrnagement with Avid to sell it beyond Avids close date.

Actually, this is a new promotion, different from the previous offer. Previous offer was for perpetual license customers without active support plans, and that did explicitly NOT extend to customers under active support.
This is apparently directed to those loyal customers who kept their licenses under support, and then felt left out when the reinstatement offer included Symphony.
Page says "limited time only" but does not mention a cut-off date.
Not sure why Videoguys sells it and Avid does not. Pinged MM about it.

Could just be the search on the Avid store being less than helpful...
Jim from Videoguys wrote the following on The Avid Editors of Facebook page:
FYI... The promo may have been launched prematurely. I will update you as soon as it becomes official and is available to order. If you have any questions please call us at 800-323-2325. My direct extension is 110
Whoops. Already got mine. Whatever the case, very nice promotion - just in time for an annual support renewal for me.
However, this promo does not renew your support contract.
Is there any official Avid news available anywhere regarding this supposed offer?
Gerry
No, but I would suggest you ping Videoguys directly, they'll be able to tell you more.
Offer is up now.
From Avid, it requires a renewal in order to get the $99 price.
From Videoguys (when I bought it), renewal was not required (though I did it anyway as it was coming up soon).
From Avid:

Sorry I'm a little confused. I already have a current Support Plan. Does this mean I can add the Symphony Option for 99 USD, or do I have to renew my plan again AND add the 99 USD for the Symphony Option?

The latter -- if you buy from Avid at least. Will add 12 months of support to your current support plan.
