    ScriptSync floating license usage

    Hello all-

We're considering purchasing a floating license for ScriptSync, since not all of our editors need this feature and the assistant editors helping them move from machine to machine.

In this scenario, when is a ScriptSync license considered "in use"? Does simply launching Media Composer consume a license, or is it only used while bins are being searched and indexed?

Likewise with PhraseFind: Is the license only used to build the phoenetic index, or is it always in use regardless of the indexed status of the project?

    Thanks in advance,

    Ryan

    Hello Ryan

Launching the MC with the SS activation on will consume a license.   If the party is done with the SS component then they should deactivate it so another editor can use it.

    Same for PF.

This is one reason why we use the activation schemes for these options.
