We want our tv pieces to be loudness compliant. What do you guys recommend using to accomplish this? I've been looking at two products from iZotope.
1. INSIGHT
2. RX LOUDNESS CONTROL
Which one do you prefer (or something different).
From my research, it looks like INSIGHT is a plug in you just add to you stereo output bus and you can monitor your levels while you work. RX LOUDNESS CONTROL looks more like a audio suite effect you add to mixed down audio that automattically adjusts the levels so that you are compliant. Does that sound about right?
I did try to demo these products, but my AVID kept crashing. Not sure why.
I'm Curious about this too,
im going to test

as a start, I like the idea of mixing normall, I hope the round trip isn't too hard.
INSIGHT is a metering suite that you can use to check your level while mixing or at delivery. You can't really modify level/dynamic with that. I have one license, it's a good tools, but I don't really use it anymore, I prefer myself using NUGEN VisLM-H. I find the UI better and more customizable, and the history graph with memory is a killer feature while mixing levels.
RX LOUDNESS CONTROL is more a dynamic processor to correct your mix. I don't have it. There is plenty of tools that you can use for that. NUGEN and TC ELectronics have for example similar tools. You can also simply use a truepeak limiter, depending on your delivery specs. iZotope RX6 has also some useful tools for that.
So it really depend if you want a tools to be used while mixing or for checking final output (INSIGHT) or an automated tool for fixing "automatically" your level to the required standard.
