Need to cut the number of workspaces on a project...

    Hi

We have a project where they have created too many partitions, so specially on PC you cant mount all desired workspaces.

I know that Media Tool is probably the answer here, but I feel more safe with just copy - paste - delete in Windows. Is that an "OK" way to do this?

(extend the storage on workspace 101, copy 102 & 103 into here and then rename the workspace to "101-103, and rename the MXF folders to coresponding name for safe. Then when verifying everything is online, compared folder size etc, delete workspaces 102 & 103)

It sounds like you understand the rules of no more than 5000 files in a folder and the folder naming.

Since you're not copying between formats, you can use the Finder or Windows Explorer. But this is a good time to look for orphaned media. I suggest using the free MDV or MediaMover to look at the media. I feel confident you'll find orphaned media that can be deleted.
