Exporting 2:3:2:3 instead of 2:2:2:4 Cadence, once again.

I've had a rquest from a Broadcaster to export the Video Files with a 2:3:2:3 Cadence instead of the typical 2:2:2:4 Cadence that Avid does by default.

I've read pretty much read every Post and Thread on this and other Forums without success. Here's a quick run down of the workflow that I'm following. Final mastering is done in a 23.976 project and then both Audio and Video Mixdowns are done before the bin is brought into a 1080i - 59.94 Project. I've used both the individual mixdown clips to build a final timeline as well as opening the sequence that was built in the 23.976 project that include the mixdows as well.

I've tried the Timewarp Tool, set to Both Fileds and Interpolated Fields going from Progressive to Interlaced or Film 2:3 Pulldown. I've also tried the Transcode Option that has been suggested in other posts but I always end up with a 1080i - 59.94 with a 2:2:2:4 Cadence as my final export.

I'm obviously missing something or just clueless so could someone please shed some light in a simple step by step procedure as to how I can get the requested 2:3:2:3 Cadence this Broadcaster is asking for.

Please and Thanks ahead of thime.

I'm currently runiing MC 8.8.2 on El Capitan.

So you have 23.976 seq you want to convert to 59.94i but Avid is using 2:2:2:4 cadence instead of the 2:3 standard?

When you open Motion Effect Editor and "promote"  it should allow you to change the "Source" and "Output". In your case you want the source to be "progressive" and the output as "Film with 2:3 pulldown"

I'm not sure by your post what you are delivering. If you open your finished 1080/23.976p sequence in a 1080/59.94i project Avid will convert it and add (29.97) to the sequence name. If you just use Step Fwd 1 Field and advance through the 23.976 media it looks like 2:2:2:4 but that seems misleading . If you play that sequence out through Nitris DX it will add proper 3:2 pulldown (2:3:2:3). If you do a Video mixdown of the sequence and use Step Fwd/Bk 1 Field to inspect the mixdown it will have proper 3:2 pulldown. If you Export the sequence MXF OP1a you get proper 3:2 puldown. We use mostly PC but do have a couple of MAC's and these are the results I get.
