Full Screen Playback Monitor Select WRONG

    Hi there,

I have this problem, that I want to connect 1-2 additional displays to my macbook pro (AVID 8.8.2) OSX  10.11.6

This always worked well, lately howewer it seems impossible to select any of the 3 screens as the one for fullscreen playback.

When I select my main screen it works

but when I select my secondary screen (which is the actual screen on my MBP)it looks like this and I have no full screen.

The weirdest thing: this happens if i set my screens like this in the settings:

but if I set them to something like this the AVID is getting the actual position

but my fullscreen looks like this:

lots of images...but its hard for me to explain with words...anyways I hope you get what I mean. I didnt find any solution yet. this happens with my 13" retina macbook pro with 2 screens attached and with the one from the images (2011 MPB with thunderbolt display atteached).

I already tried to set the "no different spaces" for the monitors in the apple settings...but no success...somebody with same issues?

Ah: the reason why I dont want to have my laptop display as main display is: I want a bigger composer window! As the composer only gets as big as the main displays width resolution...

    Thanks for helping..

Full screen display doesn't work without limitations when using diffrent sized monitors.  The program defaults to the smallest sized screen to prevent unintended consequences if the dispalys are switched.

Must think of something clever to go here...

Re: Full Screen Playback Monitor Select WRONG

I'm considering a new iMac 27" with i7 procerssor, 580 GPU. I want to use the Retina 5K display as "permanent" full screen, and a 34" Ultrwide 1080p display for Composer and bins. Can the 2 displays run simultaneously at different resolutions?

I'll have to sacifice 1 USB-C port for the extra display, via HDMI converter as I understand it.

    Any advice welcome.
