SD pro res file to HD?

I have a pro res SD file.

I would like to uprez the footage to HD and create better sharper credits/on screen text.

what is the best way to accomplish this?

Can I do this in Composer or do I need to something like After effects?

I've never found the Avid Scaler to be as good as other solutions. I'd certainly look at AE.

The Credits would be far better recreated in HD rather than scaled up.

You want to use BCC Uprez directly from inside of Avid

    Honestly I

have always let Avid do the uprez...someday I'll use the Boris or Saphirre uprez but for now Avid does a serviceable job.

BEST WAY? Hardware scaler...Terranex, Alchemist.  Second best way, also hardware, AJA Kona card. I use this by playing out of one machine into the Kona, and capture in another.  Third, probably Adobe After Effects, and then Premiere.

BCC Uprez does a h+ll of a good job Shane , I´ve even upconverted SD to Bluray without anyone noticing it , if you haven´t tested it yet you might have one more thing on that to do list of yours.

I will have to test it against footage upconverts I have from Compressor, Adobe and the AJA hardware.  I'll check it out, thx

This question shows up here from time to time Shane , might be time to refresh old workflows , this is a situation where AMA and link doesn´t work , you want to import, to a good high res codec and have settings to not upscale .

I have some old tuts about how to do this but we can do a realtime here in this thread.
