How to switch out DNxHD 36 with DNxHD 120

    Hello community,

I have just finished editing a sequence in DNxHD 36, and I want to switch out the DNxHD 36 media with a higher quality DNxHD 120 for delivery.  However, I am unsure how to do this.  Below is my workflow.

1). Import media at DNxHD 36 quality.

    2). Edit.

3). Switch out DNxHD 36 for DNxHD 120?

I am unsure how to do step three.  Note, AMA was not used at all in this workflow.

All help greatly appreciated, thank you in advance!

    Omar

Is all your  DNxHD 36 media on one drive?
If so close Avid and put an x infront of the Avid MediaFiles folder name.

    Open Avid.
Duplicate your sequence (It's media will be offline).
Rename the new sequence appropriately and put it in a new bin.
Select the sequence and Batch Re Import (used to be Batch Import in earlier versions) choosing DNxHD 120 as the resolution.

At the Re Import stage MC will create a new Avid MediaFiles folder with a new MXF folder in it and a new 1 folder inside that.  All of your DNxHD 120 media will go to that folder.
When the import is complete your sequence should be completely on line with the new media.

When you have checked it you can close MC.
Rename the 1 folder with your DNxHD 120 media to something like "100 Project name DNx120."
Move this folder into the xAvid MediaFiles\MXF\ folder.
Then delete the new now empty Avid MediaFiles folder and rename the  xAvid MediaFiles folder back to Avid MediaFiles.
    Open MC.
