Read Drops on Path Diag testing 10Gb connection to Nexis E4

    Hi all

We're getting read drops (to zero) every 125sec during a PathDiag test to a 10Gb Myricom connection to a 3x Nexis E4 120TB system connected to a CISCO 4500X. Clients are MAC PRO's Type 5.1 running Yosemite 10.9.5. Nexis client nd server is 6.2.2.

The Myricom driver was downloaded from Myricom site, is version 1.3.5 and settings were done according AVID's instructions.

During editing DNxHD185 client was complaining on some sluggishness. Maximum Nexis bandwidht never reached - always around the 600MB (MAX should be 2400MB - 1920MB on some dual disk protected workpaces).

Attached is a picture of the path diag screen.

CISCO 4500X has the AVID configuration loaded.

    Any suggestion to try/test?

    Best regards

    Gonçalo

Re: Read Drops on Path Diag testing 10Gb connection to Nexis E4

    Hi all

    Problem solved:

Loop tests have this behavior :-) - the default test time was on 2 min - 120sec so everytime it restats the loop it goes to zero.

The sluggishness was due to a misconfiguration, on some of the editors, on the Myricom settings related to the FlowControl not being active.

    Best regards

It is important that Jumbo Frames is off on the 10GigE NIC, the driver from Myricom will have it on. Myricom made us a version with it off that is included in the kit.

Also, please upgrade to NEXIS v7.1 ASAP.
