Media Databases not refreshing or rebuilding on Lanshare

    Hi All

Have a new dry-hire Adrenaline 2.2.4 connected to our Lanshare. Everything is setup with correct drivers, computer name, passwords etc

When the MCA boots up all drives are mounted correctly on logon. Editors can load projects and edit fine. However refreshing databases does not work. Deleting the relevant  database files in the correct folder in OMFI MediaFiles does not rebuild them on restart of Media Composer.

The only way I can force a rebuild and reindex is to import or capture a clip. Normally i just import a test pattern .tiff and as soon as I start this process the avid starts rebuilding and reindexing.

    So anyone have any ideas.

Thanks in advance for any help

Re: Media Databases not refreshing or rebuilding on Lanshare

Somebody may correct me on this, but I just went through the same thing, so this might work for you. Dunno.

I deleted my MMOB files ON LANSHARE to recreate the database, and it didn't work right. I'm having some unrelated C: problems (too full), but just for kicks, I looked in the Avid folder on C: and deleted the MMOB, etc. in C:. Then the database rebuilt itself with no problems and my editor is working on his project again.

I have no idea if this will work for you or if indeed this is even the correct thing to do (although deleting the database files shouldn't harm anything). But it worked for me.

Currently using Avid Pinnacle 6 and 7.1 on a Dell XPS, along with Adobe Production Suite. I have much more experience with Avid XPress Pro HD 5.x, LANShare... [view my complete system specs]
