Nice work G-Man (Gerald) on this thread.

Patrick - has this happened a bunch of times?   if so, check your internet connection.

Re: Avid Not Recognizing Activated License

    Hello Marianna,

Does this mean that an internet connection is always necessary at AVID startup, because his laptop doesn't always have an internet connection.

    Patrick

Re: Avid Not Recognizing Activated License

if you select that option then yes....  otherwise you can always do a .bin file and activate without the internet.

If you do not have an internet connection follow these instructions to re-activate your software.

NOTE: Click here to see firewall requirements for Application Manager.  Your IT department may be able to allow access for online activation/deactivation using these instructions.
Go to www.avid.com/license and activate your software using the System ID and Activation ID from your MyAvid account and the Device ID from the Application Manager license details. Save the resulting .bin file to a convenient location.
Quit out of the AvidApplicationManager and AvidAppManHelper processes in Task Manager (Win) or Activity Monitor (Mac).
Delete the following folder Win - C:\ProgramData\Avid\Licenses ("show hidden files" in folder options if not seen)
Mac - HD/Library/Application Support/Avid/Licenses Launch Application Manager and navigate to the Licensing tab. Note Media Composer will no longer show as activated.
Choose "Offline" activation and browse to the newly downloaded .bin file. Once you browse to the .bin file the ACTIVATE link will become active.  Click it. Once activated, close the Application Manager window. Launch Media Composer.

Re: Avid Not Recognizing Activated License

Oh boy, this has happened to me again. This is getting frustrating.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why this would reoccur? I generally work outside of "business hours" so to have to get it reset every time is at least a 12 hour process.

Not good for the stress levels.

Can you check your internet connection....  is there a firewall in your location that m ight be impacting you?  Sometimes if the internet is not that stable, an offline activation is a good idea.

If you do not have an internet connection follow these instructions to re-activate your software.

NOTE: Click here to see firewall requirements for Application Manager.  Your IT department may be able to allow access for online activation/deactivation using these instructions.

Ermmm..that advise actually would necessitate having an internet connection if you need to travel to www.avid.com/license etc.

Thanks for everyone's help. I've done the offline activation this time, hopefully it sticks.
