    MC 8.3 backward compatibility?

    Hello,

I just wanted to double check this before I go any further...

I have MC8.3.1 and I'm sending a bin to an Avid running MC 6.5.3

They'll be sending this bin back to me to open in 8.3.1

Will I be able to open it?

The short answer is yes. Backward compatabilty is one of Media Composer's strengths. As long as you're using SD or HD footage and project settings you should be fine.

Re 8.31 this is a strength with modifications though , you need one of the latest patches of older versions , going back to 5.5 currently if mem serves me well , more problematic with versions pre 5.5

    M,

I think the question is bin exchange compatability vs recent versions of MC.
