    1080p Project Under 720p Settings + Blackmagic

    Hi there community, 2 questions:

    1. We are running broadcast documentary edits in 1080p 25fps. However our client monitor is a Sony Bravia that only supports 1080i or 720p so naturally we have to set the project settings to one of these resolutions.

Will this have any impact on editing/consolodating/transcoding/exporting/titles/effects etc? Or is it simply just a setting for playback?

    2. Creating Titles and Marquees in MC 6.5.4 seems to crash MC when the Black Magic Intensity Pro PCI-E card. Turning off externla hardware temorarily seems to fix this issue. Blackmagic support don't seem to know why this is happening, has anyone else had this problem? Could it be that we are using a unsupported motherboard?

    Thanks in advanced,

Media you create with in MC will be at the resolution of the project format. So if you are at 720 you will be making 720 line media.

If you need 1080 outputs you need to be running in a 1080 project. All HD TV's should accpet standard HD signals so even if the TV s only 720 natively it should scale a 1080 input.

    Thanks for the info

What do you mean by "media line"? Surely if I ingest Canon C300 mxf media at 1080p into 720p project the media will still be 1080p but the playback would just be 720p? And if I export the project as a QT at 1080 it will be 1080?
