Mavericks has not been certified by Avid yet - there are several posts on the subject in the forum.  Based on Avid's comments in other postes, Avid is working on it and Mavericks support should be coming soon. But they have not given a date for the release.

Re: Driver Fast track usb and os x 10.9 (maverick)

Thank you very much but I've tried to use "search" and found your results.

My model of "fast track" is "M-Audio fast track usb 2 (MK2)" and the link for my "driver" should be this:

    http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/Download/Fast-Track-USB-Drivers

seems to be the only one in the family "fast track" to remain excluded from updates for osx 10.9...but Why??? Big Smile

Re: Driver Fast track usb and os x 10.9 (maverick)

    Hi

I have actually solved the Fast Track USB problem and it now works with Mavericks!

    I downoaded this file> http://akmedia.digidesign.com/support/compressed/FastTrack_1_9_5_Drivers_80533.dmg?ns=1

you can find the file here 1.9.5. http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/Download/Fast-Track-Drivers?retURL=%2Fpkb%2Farticles%2Fen_US%2FDownload%2FFast-Track-USB-Drivers%3FretURL%3D%252Fpkb%252Farticles%252Fdownload%252Ffast-track-solo-drivers%26popup%3Dtrue&popup=true

    The computer restarted

Then I uninstalled the drivers through the same file.

I also deleted the folder Avid here.. /Library/application support/Avid

Now my M-Audio Fast Track USB works!

    Hope this also help you.

//// This took me 4 weeks to solve... To Avid. I am Not Impressed by you guys! Regards Sweden

    Vack.........

I am a little confused by the order of operations. It appears you are saying: Downloaded driver Computer Restarted Uninstalled driver Deleted Avid folder Now it Works When did you actually install the driver?  Were you not running the supported driver before?  Are you using first or second gen Fast Track USB? Feel free to email me directly. Marianna

Re: Driver Fast track usb and os x 10.9 (maverick)

    Regarding the Installation/Deinstallation suggestion above:

It seems that the vendor driver does not work under Mavericks, but OS X's own driver works (somewhat). So updating and then removing should switch back to OS X's driver. I updated my Mac Pro from Mountain Lion to Mavericks, and my Fast Track stopped working. At the same time, I got a new MacBook Air, on which the Fast Track worked just fine. So I removed the driver (manually) from my Mac Pro, and the Fast Track started working again.

I have a remaining problem with Apple's driver, though: For the first fraction of a second, when a new sound source starts playing, i often get loud cracks and static from the Fast Track. After that, sound playback is working fine, e.g. playing back music. But with short sounds like system sounds, and especially repeating stuff, like Adium, this is really annoying.

It appears that this only happens when the Fast Track was completely idle. If I start playing back a track, all notification sounds play fine on top of it.

I really hope that the Fast Track will get an updated driver vor Mavericks, soon.

Edit: Nevermind, I found the following link with 10.9 drivers: http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/download/Fast-Track-Drivers

I don't know why I didn't find them before, but the page I found via the support section only had drivers for 10.8.
