    File based media sharing/relinking

    Hi,

I'm just about to start a new project where the edit will be split between suites in two different locations.  It's all shot tapeless - probably C300 with no doubt some fs700 and gopro too.

For reasons I shalln't bore you all with we might be ingesting the media independently in both AVIDs by AMA and consolidate/transcode.  My question is, when we come to share sequences will they relink to the correct clips on the other machines - I've had limited success in the past and need this to go smoothly.

I'm currently running Symphony 6.5.3 but have 7.0 ready to be installed, I'm not sure about the other system yet but assume 6.0 at least.

    Thanks,

    Rob

Best way to ensure compatibility is to ingest on one system then copy to the others.

Not sure how well ingesting separately will work -- it would be worth a test before you get too far.

    Symphony v8.8 | OS 10.11.6 • Nitris DX • 12-core MacPro (Mid 2012) • 36 GB RAM • Facilis Terrablock 24EX [view my complete system specs]
