    Can't open Media Composer 6.0

Everything worked yesterday, but today I only get as far as "Intializing Media Access Manager"...after a while I get the message "Exception Disk_Invalid_Filename_Syntax".

    Any ideas?

I'm using an iMac, 3.4Ghz, Intel Core i7, 8gbs of RAM.

This is a long shot but try and delete the database files and re-launch media composer

There's a disc that has a name with "invalid syntax"...i.e., illegal characters, like slashes ( / ).  Rename to something with alphanumeric characters only.

    Thanks Kevin,

strangely the disk didn't have any of those characters, and had had the same name since I got it (Macintosh Hard Drive), but...

    renaming it did the trick!

    So, once again thanks tons!!

    Cheers, Alec.
