I can no longer link to Quicktime files in 6.0.1.1. I have tried both DNxHD and Prores Quicktime files. All cause a crash to desktop. We currently don't have 6.0.1.1 installed on any of our MC machines to check. This used to work fine in 6.0. AFAIK the QT AMA component is installed with the application so I don't need to install any seperate plugin, correct?
Might be worth an uninstall / reinstall or repair permissions on your hard drive first?
If just QuickTimes, then the AMA plugin is installed with the app, so you shouldn't have to install anything else.

Turns out it was the Arri AMA plugin causing the issue. Removed it and everything works fine now.
I checked with engineering and this is a known issue that's been logged. ARRI is working on a fix.

Folks,
The product folks at Avid have been in contact with the Arri team. Let them work it....

The same problem is also in MC 5.5.
The Arri folks are quick to react :) Good news.
They can reproduce the problem on their machine and are going to look into it. Quick work around: If, in the dialog box, you select the "Quicktime" AMA plugin instead of "All AMA Plugins", you can successfully import the quicktime file. Marianna
According to ARRI's RNs the latest PlugIn "1_1b0" (Mac-Version), released May, 30th fixes the issue.
