Hi all,
Just ran into a problem which points to the Arri Alexa AMA plugin. Looking for confirmation before I report to Arri.
I installed on my MBP running Lion 10.7.2 and MC 6.0.1 Did a bunch of testing (see other threads).
Now I needed to AMA link to a normal .mov file in a new project.
First, when I select AMA link file, in the plugin selection at the bottom of the bin, it is defaulting to Arri Alexa. I change it to All Plugins, select my file and press OK and BANG crash to the desktop. I can not figure out how to make it NOT default to Arri Alexa.
I deleted the plugin and all is fine.
Can someone try and recreate this please?
Thanks,
Jef

Might be a bug here Jef, this is reported also in other threads , someone might take a closer look at this .

I just ran across this as I was having the same problem. Guess it isn't fixed
I was getting a number of errors with the Arri plugin installed. When I removed it, those issues went away. if you don't need it, I might suggest uninstalling until they get it sorted out.

My worry is that they are not aware it is broke. I have tried twice to contact their support and gotten no response.
Frustrating.
See this thread.
Good. Thanks for pointing this out.
On it folks......
stand by and thanks Jef for pinging me on email.

The Arri folks are quick to react :) Good news............
Ran into this a month or so ago and another work around is to select QuickTime as the format when Linking to QT files. You can keep the Alexa plugin installed if you use this method.
Altering the universe - one pixel at a time.
Does anybody know if Arri has fixed this with a new version?
Marianne said they are aware of the problem. I have heard nothing else.
They are aware - there is a workaround - they are working on it.
Workaround: If, in the dialog box, you select the "Quicktime" AMA plugin instead of "All AMA Plugins", you can successfully import the quicktime file.
OK, thanks. This plugin is only for ArriRaw correct? If shot with prores444 on Arri, you don't need the Arri plugin, but you do need QT pro codecs loaded into QT library?
