Strange way of explaining the performance difference over an 800?

Now most of us are drooling over thr Z820, in a realistic world, if hp are shipping from the start of april, when do think avid will qualify it as an acceptable workstation?
Reason being, I am getting new suites costed up as an investment at the moment (Z800s), and wonder if I should try and hold off for the Z820, but unsure how long it'd be ??

I would wait either way. When the Z800's came on the market, the xw8600's had a big price drop. If history is any guide, if you still want to go with the 800's, you'll probably get a great deal on them once the 820's have been out for a few months.
I have a fantastic editing assistant. He stays by my side when I edit...doesn't talk too much...and thinks I'm a genius! Check him out here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQVkYaaPO6g

By all means wait, if you got the money for the new series. It´s a magnitude faster in every aspect.
As always, heavy threaded applications gain the most from more cores, but look how fast this CPU is when it gets to stretch it´s legs:

I have a Z800 that is so over speced it will not run Avid MC6
Why would a Z820 be better?
^^ A good edit takes time but who has the time? When I look back I see my mistakes!
"... I have a Z800 that is so over speced it will not run Avid MC6 ..."
Seriously?

What are your system specs then?
HP is offering a 20% off coupon code on their z800 workstation page. For a $7000 computer, that would be a huge chunk of money.
valid in USA only :(
