Studio vs. Liquid 7

I'm sure this question has been asked before but I have been unable to find any info on this issue. I am wondering how much 'more' liquid 7 can do vs Studio14. I'd like to know how liquid 7 differs from Studio.

I am an amateur videographer looking to get to a professional level. Express pro is way beyong my budget and probably overkill for the market I am aiming towards at the moment. I am just wondering if liquid 7 would be a worth while step up from Studio at this time. Content to be used primarily for web at this time.

Avid Liquid Pro Question

Haven't been here for a while, but i see the Liquid forum has been archived. Whatever, anyway.

Does Avid Liquid Pro 7 have anything similar to a garbage matte, i cannot find it either by searching, or in the in-program manual. I am trying to do a simple 4-point matte on a section, then invert it, and darken the matte to emphasis the middle part. How can i do this?

I just purchased Pinnacle 12 Ultimate to edit my sons football games. I was wondering If anybody can help me. What I am trying to is put like a yellow circle around him before the play starts to highlight where he is at. Then once the play starts I wanted to take the circle off of him and then let it play through. I am sending thes videos to college coaches and want to make the videos look good.

Creating Mpeg 2 files in Pinnacle

I am having trouble creating Mpeg-2 files from my edited video. All was fine until I had to unistall and reinstall my Pinnacle Studio Plus 11.1.2. I use a PC with 32 bit Vista and edit holiday pics to create rather long sequences. Since reinstalling, including keys for 16x9 HD editing and Mpeg 2 codex I have been able to create disc images but not Mpeg 2 files. I thought the problem might have been the length of my sequence. At 1h38mins it hung up as soon as it strated rendering. But after cutting down the sequence it still hung up after about 32mins. I have produced files before, up to about 55mins in length, so the system should be capable of doing it. But not any more.

Has anyone any ideas what I could try.

I am new to this forum and I dont even know if this is the right section to be posting something like this. I am a Chemistry student and happen to have a dumb friend who I like to bits. Unfortunately he wants to make a DVD of his holidays and he somehow got hold of liquid 5.0. The problem is that when he imports something and tries to play it. The clip/movie seems to skip or jump or whatever u wanna call it. Plzz pardon my erratic tech terms but i am no good at this but sure am better thn him in understanding a bit about computers. Hes desperate, he increased his RAM, changed hard drives.. ordered pre-installed liquid 5.0 from india. Installed, uninstalled, re-intalled, literally everything. We did whatever we could now the last option that i cud think of was to come here and see if i could get any help.. plzz let me know if someone can be of some help. he's really upset with this.

Export file HD in WMV format with liquid 7.2

I’m a Italian user of Avid Liquid 7.20 (build 4296) update 4296 in windows XP SP3

For the first time I have created a project in HD with TimeLine setup :

Impostazioni predefinite : 1080/50i(1440x1080 16x9)

Risoluzione : 1440 x 1080 – 16:9 (non square)

Qualita’ FX : Bassa qualita’

Qualita’ ottimale sorgente : Normale

Qualita’ minima sorgente : Normale

Codec predefinito : MPEG-2 MP@HL (M2V)

and I need to export it in WMV (Windows Media HDV 1080/50i 1440x1080).

But when I Try Liquid send me this message :

XPM WMF The requested video codec is not installed on this system.

Where can I find this Codecs ?

There is an other method to do it ?

There is anyone that can help me ?

Problema de captura en Avid Liquid Pro 7

Hola.

El problema es el siguiente he renovado la maquina donde antes editaba por una nueva les adjunto las caracteristicas:

Dell Precision WorkStation T5400

DUAL INTEL XEON E5420 (2.50GHZ)

4GB DDR2 667 QUAD CHANNEL FBD MEMORY

3x 500 GB HD

DUAL 512MB ATI FIREGL V7600

SOUND BLASTER X-FI XTREME MUSIC CARD

S.O. WINDOWS XP SP3 -- con todas las actualizaciones + DirectX 10

Y la version del Avid Liquid es la 7.2.1, la maquina tiene todos los drivers actualizados a dia de hoy...

Pues os comento, la instalo sin problemas configuro los magnetoscopios perfectamente en concreto un D9 por componentes y un HDV de JVC por firewire perfectamente, abro el modulo de captura, controlo perfectamente el magnetoscopio, doy a capturar y no da error ninguno pero cuando paro la captura, manda el video capturado a las carpetas de destino y hay llega el problema el video aparece con un aspa y si le miro las propiedades me dice que "No hay medios encontrados" Cuando los discos duros estan perfectamente configurados en panel de control.

Y me digo, vamos a probar con otro modulo de captura, esta vez por el EZCapture (captura facil) y por este modulo no da ningun problema, tanto por HD como por componentes. El video lo veo en la timeline perfectamente.

Pruebo el modulo que falta de captura en concreto el de ingesta y por este modulo va todo bien pero pasa lo mismo que con el primer modulo de captura, que cuando termina de capturar muestra la miniatura con un aspa.

El problema es que necesito que funcionen los tres modulos, porque depende del trabajo usamos un modulo de captura difetente.

¿A que podria ser debido el problema? ¿puede ser que windows se haya instalado mal? ¿creo que no es problema de incompatibilidad ya que un modulo de captura funciona bien?

La maquina anterior funcionaba perfectamente.

Transfering Studio 10 from laptop to Desk top computer

I have on my laptop Studio 10 although I haven't used it for sometime and not very familiar with all its functions. I however thought I'll upgrade to Studio 12 Ultimate and start to create some home movies.

When I tried to run the upgrade I found I did not have enough disc space for the upgrade - so I want to transfer Studio 10 from my laptop along with the Studio 12 upgrade to my desk top computer where I have plenty of disc space available.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

when i try to work on the dynamic time warp after rendering klip dosnet show i have black screen,

when i try to do cross fade on the time line is ok ,but when i convert klip to HD by clicking the output the klip has green screen where should be cross fade.

I work on the 4 quad ,4gb ram ,1 tb hard drive nvidia 8500 gt

i dont now what is the solution

can enyone help?

Liquid Laptop requirements

Hi all,

Im in the process of looking for a new laptop to install Liquid. I currently have a laptop which is unfortunalty running vista meaning I am running liquid via a virtual machine. Not my first choice but is the only option I currently have.

Thus i am looking for another laptop which will solely run liquid. Does the following laptop meet the requirements and if so can you give me an idea of what performance will be like? Eg. jerky movement, slow mouse response etc...

I relise the laptop below is a MININOTE but it suit me very well providing Liquid runs well. If this wont suit can you please tell me where i am falling short?

capturing video with pinnacle 12.1

When I am capturing video clips with Pinnacle 12.1 I get the following error message:

"Error opening file - Some .MOV video is not supported."

Why do I get this error message and what does "Some .MOV video" mean?

I upgraded from Pinnacle to Liquid 7 beginning of the year. My hard drive then died, unrecoverable. I rebuilt my system with new components. Now I am trying to reload Liquid. Both times i tried it did not recognize the serial number from the cdrom.

I am new to Avid and cannot get it installed. I have run into the "the required cd cannot be found" problem when I insert Pinnacle Studio 12 cd which Avid 7.2 asks for. I have read the forums, but cannot find out how to solve the problem. I use a Dell Studio laptop with XP SP3.

Problem with audio in liquid

I am using avid liquid 7 .. my problem is I can't hear the audio when I playback but when I export the move I hear the sound I think the problem is with the audio device in the system settings .. in the audio output in the selected device its direct sound

DVD creation on Vista fails!

Hi,

I know that at the current stage Liquid is not supported on Vista but I was wondering if there is a hack/patch/or anything else for my dilemma:

- The Liquid 7.2 works on my brandy new and shiny Dell with Vista preloaded, however, one I click on Burn to DVD the application exists with the fatal error. Beside this, so far 7.2 works great in other areas.

Please advice.

Photoshop CS3 affecting smartsound

Hi there,

I downloaded the trial version of PS CS3 Extended and for some reason smartsound and DJ juicer 3

sound tracks begin to act up. When I preview the sounds within Smartsound and Juicer 3 the sound dropped like a slow motion sound even when CS3 is not open. This never happened before until I install PS CS3.

Anyone encountered this problem?

Anybody knows what causes this thing to happen?

time line

I am having problems with trying to click on the clips on the time line. when I click on them the red bar does move to that clip but the clip itself is not selected. example, if I select the 3d editor and then when it opens it wants you to select a clip to edit and everytime I click on a clip it will not select it. I have never had this problem before.

Can someone, anyone give me some advise.

XSend to Commotion Pro 4.1

I've searched and read postings about XSend and Commotion Pro, and I've experimented with it a little. Thus far when I XSend an HDV clip, Commotion opens at the correct resolution, wrong frame rate for me (25fps), and contains only white.

I'm using Liquid 7.2 (latest build), Quicktime 7.2, Commotion Pro 4.1, Windows XP Home.

Others have had success in other versions of Liquid, some have had problems some of which seem to be related to Quicktime. Any ideas?
