As long as your OS is Windows XP 32 bit, you should run the /3GB bat file. This assumes you have 3GB or more of RAM installed.

It basically tells the OS to allow MC to use a bit more than the 2GB limit (gives it another ~512MB). If you are in Vista 64 bit, it does not apply. Just add more RAM. MC will utilize up to 4GB in Vista 64 bit.

i got this email from GeniusDV about "Media Composer Windows XP install 3GB"

i looked in the forums and most of the posts seemed to involve versions of MC previous to 3.x

is the patch nessessary with MC 3.x?

i have gotten the running out of memeory warning several times when working with small HD projects so i am wondering if for larger projects i should plan on working in smaller sections and assembling later or will the 3 GB patch be enough of a fix.
