But also keep Larry's suggestion in mind that you can alter the background in a P'n'Z effect, maybe you will need just that at some time.

I was looking at it all the wrong way...I did not know you could move a picture using keyframes without using the Avid Pan and Zoom...

Thanks again

Re: Avid Pan and Zoom

Assuming you have saved the PSD without a background (just the checkerboard), import the psd using the following settings: Image Size = Maintain Square, Color = RGB, Field dominance = None/Progressive, Alpha = Invert existing.

Edit the image into your sequence. Open the effect editor and promote the alpha matte to 3D. Now you can animate your picture using keyframes.

Hope that's a solution for you, g_f

[EDIT: or do it Larry's way! Sometimes one thinks of complicated solutions when there are easy ones...]

Re: Avid Pan and Zoom

In the effects editor when using Pan and Zoom, in the background fast (hamburger) menu, choose "Video" instead of "Color".

Avid Pan and Zoom

I am trying to make a picture I cropped out in photoshop move around using the Pan and Zoom effect, on a map i imported into Avid. Everytime I try to do it though, it has a white background. Is there anyway to just use the portion of the picture I cropped out? I saved it as a PSD without a background. If I just lay the picture on a seperate video track abpve my map, it does not have a background, but I can't move the picture around. With the Pan and Zoom feature it always has a background.

Thanks
