Possible that your email address has changed since you originally registerd the product or the email got stuck in spam or we just screwed up. Regardless, we are here to help and as long as your system ID is within the date range and is eligible, you can get access to it.

Send me an email and I will work it through the warranty team and get you some assistance.

Anyone else reading this that missed the deadline........ dont worry. If you are eligible and ordered after March 17th then send me your system ID via email ( dont post it online) and remind me what the issues is and we will assist.

Do you have assurance? IF you did, you would have been notified, just one of the perks of membership. If you decide to go it without assurance, then the burden is on you (and me as well since that's the direction I've chosen) to keep up to date.

I agree. I had no idea this came out and missed the window. So the only people who could have downloaded this for free are forum readers?? Why wasn't an email sent out to all users about this?

HEY ALL!

Looking to see if some things have been fixed by Version 3.0 (PC). Or if not, if they could please be fixed by 3.1?

Here’s my Top 10. My tone is not accusatory in any way. Just anxious to see if they can be done. (?)

1- Media Creation setting. Drive filtering tab. Add a selectable window allowing user to deselect internal non-media drives.

2- Media Creation & Audio Suite. Setting does not currently cover Audio Suite window. Thus Audio Suite Target Drive menu defaults to unwanted drive.

3- Bulk Volume Reduction. Ability to highlight numerous clips in a bin and reduce their audio volume all at once with either the Audio Mixer tool or with a File pull-down menu. Thus making audio changes while in the bin, not in the source monitor. Editing long-format projects requires importing a hundred music tracks. Reducing volume on each takes waaaay too much time right now.

4- LTC on Playback Setting. General Settings. Default “Generate LTC on Playback” default to ON, not to OFF.

5- Losing Saved Video Output settings. System constantly loses SAVED video outputs when switching between projects and/or upon system restarts.

6- Component. Video Output setting please to default to Component, not to Composite.

7- Pull-down menu: Edit / Set Color. This is a dumb location, since it is used to affect Clips. Move it to under the Clip pull-down instead of Edit. (Sorry so blunt.)

8- Check-in Everything! Pull-down menu: Bin / Check In Bin To Interplay. Add selectable: “Check ALL Project Bins Into Interplay. Currently, (unless I'm missing something) I need to open every bin in a project in order to have them all check in. To emphasize this, let me buy you a beer and tell you about my last project with 247 bins!

9- New Render Ability. If indeed version 3.0 has issues rendering stacked effects and/or whole 60-minute sequences flawlessly, create new Render selectable (in addition to In/Out and At Position). Create one that renders in chunks. (Dude, Editors need to hit render at 5pm and leave for the day without babysitting the darned thing!)

10- Silly little Timecode Calculator thing. Pull-down menu: Tools / Calculator. Uuuh… why does this not default to the project’s frame rate? Seriously!

Hi,

I would like to submit a bug-report for your consideration. In a separate thread, http://community.avid.com/forums/t/61709.aspx?PageIndex=4 , we have discussed the problems of using SubCap for multiple languages. The promo for SubCap says that you should simply stack your multiple languages and "switch" between them. However, that's not really possible, because of the "Top Track" approach that Avid takes to its timeline, where you can't enable/disable individual video tracks, and therefore there's no way to "switch" between subtitle tracks.

That's a design flaw, not a bug, but part of the workaround contains a bug. There are 3 ways to "switch" between subtitle tracks. They all involve having a "Playback/Editing" track, e.g. Track 4, and then you "park" your subtitle content on e.g. Tracks 5+6+7+8+9+10+11+12+13+14. To edit and even view your individual languages, you then have to somehow move them down on the "Playback/Edit" track, which is the Top Track for playback purposes, and then move it back up when you're done. In all other applications, you can simply turn on track off and another on, so this is obviously a major workaround.

Of the 3 ways, the first two quite dangerous. the third would work, except that it has a bug.

(1) You can Alt-Lasso the entire subtitle content and drag it down to the Playback. This requires heavy zooming in and out, as well as the possibility of losing sync by accidentally aligning with the wrong edit points. This method routinely causes accidental subtitle slips. It is also exceptionally difficult to navigate, and takes a large amount of concentration.

(2) You can Cut/Paste to a different track by using End, Mark Out, Home, Main In, Ctrl-X, Select new track and reroute, Alt-Overwrite. This is safer, but is extremely labor intensive. Again, in all other known editors, this is done with a single mouse click.

(3) The third method, which could otherwise work, would be to simply rearrange the tracks using Ctrl-Drag of the Track buttons, except that this "feature", contrary to both the manual and common sense, retains the original and hidden playback layering, even as the tracks are rearranged. Eeven if you accidentally rearrange your tracks, it would be quite a mystery to even figure out the original layering. If a new editor came on board with a rearranged timeline, he would surely file a bug report, as the GUI no longer represents what is actually happening.

As an acceptable workaround to the significant safety and user-friendliness problems using multiple language tracks with SubCap, I would submit that this "feature" needs to be repaired, so that rearranging tracks actually rearranges tracks, not just their display. I think that it's very difficult to justify any GUI that lets you rearrange tracks, but maintains the original, now hidden and irretrievable original layering. This turns the timeline into a Rubik's Cube, and is incomprehensible both to the current editor, and especially a second editor, who would not be able to decode the original layering, as Top is not longer Top and Bottom is no longer Bottom, with no feedback whatsoever.

Moreover, this fix is necessary to be productive with SubCap for multiple languages. This problem does not exist if you only use a single language, therefore the problem is only apparent once you submit SubCap to heavier multi-language work. As SubCap is both intended, and advertised, as the solution to multi-language subtitling, I think this is a necessary and urgent fix.

hmmm. this feels like a dig towards those of us that do frequent here.

BTW, I have two kids, a full-time 40 hr/week contract in addition to a healthy freelance workload, a "life", I take vacations etc and somehow have enough time to check the internet everyday as well.

I believe the XpressPro to MC upgrade deal was extended even beyond what it originally was to give people more time.

according to the above, I should use nvidia driver 169.47, but on the nvidia download site the only driver with that number is for quadro cards and I have a geforce go 6800....

Please advise on which driver I should use.
