I just popped a DV tape into the deck and got levels into the AVID...but that's not all. Then , I played the DVD thru the deck and got levels as well! But that's not all! I removed the tape from the deck and the audio was still there, and as I started to write this email I switched back to AVID and guess what...no levels.

The audio plays from the DVD player for a mere few seconds then cuts out. If I put a tape in the deck the audio plays from the DV tape and that's all. If I stop the tape the audio plays from the DVD player for a few secs.

P.S. The mute button doesn't make any difference and it's not the 44.1 vs. 48 either. I tried both.

Re: No Audio During Capture!!!

Jeez... this is an odd one... a few total long shots:

Does the CPU mute button make any difference?

44.1 vs. 48khz issue?

You have audio from the DVD player to the DV Deck, and audio out via the speakers. But what about audio out via FW? Can you test that? Can you pop in a normal DV tape and get audio into the Avid?

Re: No Audio During Capture!!!

Tried but not successful...I hit record for a bit and then stopped, when I hit play the picture was good but still no audio...

Re: No Audio During Capture!!!

Host -1394" is the same thing.
