You can lean over and hit rewind on the deck, once it hits picture hit the okay button on Avid.

Re: Batch Capture -- Rewind

Great idea!

Hey Avid folks - Not sure how much this is necessary outside my main workflow (documentary), but it is absolutely key for doc work! (150 tapes on this project. 128 on the last one.)

Re: Batch Capture -- Rewind

I'll second that request. It seems like most often my tapes are captured entirely in low rez and are batched later at high rez. So, all tapes are left at the end. I now have to make it a habit to take the deck out of remote before I insert the tape, put the tape in hit rewind, put it back in remote and hope Avid latches on to the TC.

Batch Capture -- Rewind

Running 2.8.3, so disregard if this is in newer versions...

This is pet peeve #4087. Batch Capturing. Pop in a tape that was played into gray (passed timecode). No matter which of the 12 decks I use, the MC always gets tripped-up. "Cannot find... Do you want to: Try again, Abort,..."

You could add one of the following two features to fix this:

Choice 1: Built-in to the automatic searching that the Avid does on the tape, have it play the tape first and if it cannot sync, have it reqind 30 seconds. That'll fix 99% of them!

Choice 2: Next to the "Try Again" button, add a button called "No, rewind the tape stupid!"
