Ilock License TROUBLE

Hello guys,

Just recently started University and recieved my Pro Tools 10 package with an ilock, I followed the instructions that came with it carefully andmade sure I was doing it right. Heres where im stuck ive made an account with iLock and downloaded the iLock software drivers, and it still says I havent got any license's to download on to my iLock.

Im stuck and frustrated, Ive been trying to do this for 2 weeks and ive got assignments that i need to start with Pro Tools!

Please somebody help me. . .

mp3 option and ilok problem

i just recently purchased the mp3 option for pro tools 8 le off of the avid website...i got the one with the ilok code..problem is i have my ilok connected, and i created my ilok account.. but when i hit the download button on the avid website.. it asks me to put my user id for my ilok account and the avid website doesn't recognize it!!! i know for a fact i am typing in the correct user id because i am able to log on to my ilok acct. using that very same id...please help!!!it is so difficult to get ahold of the people at avid!!!

No Audio Playback in Composer Window

I've been listening to my audio and "marking in" when the slate slaps so I can sync it with my video that already marked in. All of a sudden I can't hear the audio when I play it frame by frame. It's kind of hard to make an in point, I need to hear the slate slap, but I can't. Anyone know what I can do.

Can I convert a sib 7 file to a sib 6 compatible file as sib 7 too large for my netbook

Hope this is correct forum. I have sib 7 on desktop, sib 6 on netbook. Sib 7 too large for netbook so stuck with sib 6 to utilize on netbook. Can I convert files created in sib 7 on my desktop down to sib 6 so I can work with them on netbook?Thank you Much in advance, Michael R

Problems Linking to AMA Volume and Importing

Hello,

I am not able to link to AMA Volume or importing files. I have the right plugins and my mac is OS X 10.8.2 (12C60) which should be good enough. Really cannot figure this out. I have a midterm this week with this software and it isn't working. Anybody know a solution to this problem?

Can't ingest tape

Trying to batch capture a mini DV tape form a Panasonic AJ-SD255 In the midlle of the capture got these error messages,and keep gett them:

Exception FILE_OTHER, filename:N:\Avid Medial Files\MXF\2\Creating\

Exception SYS_ERROR, status O, msg: The operation completed successfully

Any suggestions?

Hi, Im running MC 6.0.3.3 on a 12core mac.

We are cutting a feature film being shot on Arri Alexa recording Arri Raw transfered to DNX36 for offline.

The sync on the cameras seem to be fine and I can (mostly) get auto sync to work. I break everything down in subclips etc and then when I go to link Cam A with Cam B sometimes it works but very sporatically it gives me the AUTO COMP NO SYNC error message.

I've looked at a few forums but none of the solutions are viable on such a big project. I've not had this problem before and I can't seem to work out why Im having it now.

Would appreciate any help that may be offered.

Random Video Clips Missing Sound After Export

I have Pinnacle Studio 16 Ultimate and I use it to edit my video game footage. Whenever I make a video that has a lot of cuts (most of them into a clip that's only a few seconds) there is always a couple random video clips that are missing the audio for them after I export my video. I do a commentary on a seperate track and when that's cut up it's fine, also everything works fine in the preview window. No matter which file type I export it as (mpeg 2, avi, wma...) there's always a couple clips where you can hear the commentary but not the sound for the video clip itself. I've tried re-rendering the files multiple times, restarting the program, exproting different qualities and nothing has worked. I'm sure it has something to do with the size of the clips but everytime I export, different clips are missing audio no matter how long. Does anyone know how to fix this??

ProTools MP9 Hardware Issue

Please somebody! Help! I have been successfully running ProTools MP 9 for well over 8 months with the M-Audio Fast Track C600 and am 85% finished with an album I'm working on. SUDDENLY, as of yesterday, when I attempt to launch ProTools, before it completes launching, I get a little window that says my hardware is not connected and to click OK when it is connected. I have done nothing to change the way it works; this came out of nowhere. My Win7 computer says that the device is connected and working properly AND other audio programs play through the Fast Track C600 just fine (Media Player and Audacity software). I've tried repair/re-install of Pro Tools, my drivers are all up to date and I tried changing "compatibility" for both the software and the hardware (they were listed for XP and I changed them to Windows 7 and back again); nothing will get it going. I'm at my wit's end and immensely frustrated. The only thing I haven't tried is completely uninstalling and re-installing from original disc because it would revert me back to 9.0 (It upgraded itself many months ago and was working fine as 9.0.5 right up until yesterday). PLEASE SOMEONE!!!

I am receiving training at a pro tools school. The instructor asked for my email address before the exam and a new account was created for me, but I already have an account with a different email address. So now I have one account with my order history and another one with my certification history. I created the new "master" account, but there was no way to include my exam/certification account. The option to contact support requires money, and that hardly seems fair.

How do I combine the two accounts? Please help!!

M Box 2 Driver for Mac Mountain Lion

I am a long time user of PT 8 and M Box 2 systems. I recently bought a new Mac Computer with Mountain Lion, and was told by Avid that I would need to spend $399 to get a cross grade to PT 10. Then I'm told to buy a Ilok device to install what I already bought. Then I find out that Avid has not bothered to create a Driver to allow my M Box to operate with PT 10 in the Mac format. Now I'm stuck with stuff I never wanted and can't even use. What is the hold-up?

Yes I got one of those. Come'on it was a cheap second hand bargain! Hopefully one day I'll be able to use it with my Avid (remoting the audio sliders in real time would be so cool), but in the meantime I can't even use it to post on the forums: it won't let me "enter" in the text box...

I just started using AVID Symphony 5 for video editing at work. I've been learning a lot through online totorials over the last week, however there is something that I can't seem to figure out how to do.

On Final Cut Pro 7 there is an Edit to Tape feature that allows you lay your whole timeline up to any tape based media, depending of course what kind of video deck you have installed. Is there any way to do that on AVID Symphony? It would be helpful to know. Thanks.

Avid Studio user:

I imported AVI files with no problem. They were originally exported from Avid. Everything was working perfectly in my current project which has various AVI files along the time line in various segments. When I opened my PC today and opened my current project NONE of the AVI files would work. Missing media file type message keeps coming up. They seem to have disappeared and when I tried to reimport them, it now will not import.

Saving AVCHD on hard drive

Hi us out there (in here) Can you help?

Using Sony A99 with Avid MC 6.5 on latest macbook pro (version 10.8.2)

I have the AVCHD plug-in and when I insert the memory card the AVCHD files

automatically load to my open bin that is connected to the open project.

The files are there, I can see them in the compser, move them in the timeline,

edit and so forth. Yet I cannot get them off the memory card.

So, I cannot save the files or the work I might do. I have tried many things

such as moving the files to my hard drive from my card, then openig composer...yet then they

do not upload automatically and I cannot get them in manually without an error.

So...perhaps, do I need to send to encoding to sorenson squeeze or...?

Just about to shoot a movie and would like to go AVCHD rather than M-peg 4 unless

advised otherwise.

Hello, I recently started using bus tracks and know them well. I recently was editing a song and tried to use a bus track but instead of it coming up "Bus 1-2" it only comes up "Stereo," "Plate,"Small hall," "large hall,'" etc. How Do I fix this problem?
