FYI, Avid Xpress DV is only supported for Win XP.

Free DV was not designed for Vista, and is now EOL (End of life). That might not be the problem though. At a minimum, you need to Right-Click on the Avid FreeDV app, and set the Compatibility to Win XP. Meanwhile, if you're on Vista, I'm positive your Quicktime is too new.

My OS is Windows Vista... im not sure which version of quicktime I have it just says quicktime installer.

What are your system specs? Avid Free DV is pretty antique, and your OS or QT may be too new.

I have Quicktime installed on my computer already, but everytime I log on to Avid Free DV, I get the following message:

"Quicktime is not installed on this system, it is strongly recommended you install it. Some effects will not function properly without it. ".

And when I try to import any type of files (quicktimes, mpgs, avi) I get this message:

"The file format (name of file) is not supported for import."

HELP!
