&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Creating a basic picture in picture (PIP) effect in Media
Composer is quite simple. Depending on the look
you&amp;rsquo;re going for, you can achieve this effect with just one video track.
Performing the PIP effect with one video track will leave you with a black
background. If you want a video or graphic for a background, you need to have two tracks that are filled with video or with
graphics. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;1. Place the video or graphic that you want to use as the
background in video track 1, then add a new video track, and place the video you will resize in video track
two.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;2. Go to the Project Window and click on the Effects tab.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;3. Under the Blend option, drag the Picture-in-Picture effect icon from the
Effects tab, and drop it on the video placed in track 2. You can now see the
effect in the Record monitor.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;4. Click the Effect Mode icon. You can now drag the clip to reposition it, and use the handles of
the bounding box to resize the picture.&lt;/p&gt;
