&lt;p&gt;Stumbled across this thread on a search for Server 2003 domain issues and Vista.&amp;nbsp; I know this is probably way too late, but on the off chance that you still have not gotten an answer, here it is.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The ISIS Client software adds a registry switch to Vista machines.&amp;nbsp; The switch does not exist in XP machines, and is not included in a Default Vista install either.&amp;nbsp; &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\currentcontrolset\services\Mup\ DisableDFS&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;ISIS client sets this to 1 (true)&amp;nbsp; it must be&amp;nbsp;set to false&amp;nbsp;(set to 0)&amp;nbsp;for Group Policy to locate and access the SYSVOL folder on the DNS server via DFS.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Change key, reboot then run a cmd prompt and run gpupdate /force and the policy will be applied.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Hope you got your answer sooner than this, but if not, there it is.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I noticed this post is over a month old with no reply. Have you received any assistance on this issue? &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I have seen a small drizzle of issues with machine policies being applied to Vista in a Win2k3 domain. MS Technet has had a few threads about it, but the issue seems sporadic at best. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;That being said, your case appears to be isolated to the presence of Assist, which means we should take a look at it.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Have you checked the Security log in Event Viewer for those stations?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Have you enabled USERENV and winlogon.log logging?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc775423.aspx (This link is useful for troubleshooting Group Policy problems, or at the very least tracing any conflicts.) &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;If all else fails, have you opened up a case with Customer Success at 1-800-NEWS-DNG ?&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I know this probably isn&amp;#39;t actually an Avid issue, but have any of you heard anything about Group Policy Objects failing to apply on Avid Assist/MCSoft systems running Vista in an Interplay environment? I&amp;#39;m troubleshooting a problem where the machine policies fail to apply on their Vista Symphony, MCSoft, and Assist stations. The user GPOs apply successfully to all workstations, and Vista machines running Access or clean installations of Vista are unaffected. I&amp;#39;ve also ruled out it being an issue with the GPO itself by dumping everything and restoring to defaults and have pretty well exhausted the similar issues on mentioned MS Technet and Google at large. The environment in question is:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Windows 2003 Server (x64) domain controllers with Active Directory in native mode&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Interplay 1.4.2.9007&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;ISIS 1.5.43310&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Windows Vista (x32 and x64) workstations running either SymphonyDX, MCSoft or Assist.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Anyway, I thought I&amp;#39;d see if there were any ideas here before popping for a support ticket with Microsoft.&lt;/p&gt;
