    "S" denotes Single Field.

That's more or less a legacy codec, as computers and storage space are such that using single field resolutions is really not necessary.

According to the Avid storage calculator 1 hour of NTSC footage at 2:1 = 32 Gbs, but 2:1s = 10 Gbs.  Why is 2:1 three times larger?
