There has been a release of a new driver update for the MX2 mini, version 5.0.
Will this work with Media Composer? I have yet done any update past the Avid supporting first one and because of this I cannot use the MAX part of the MXO2 mini (need to update to be able to).
Will the version 5.0 work with Avid?
64 bit, GPU acceleration, better AMA, better exports with GPU acceleration, better grading with true secondary and lift gamma gain, higher resolutions (4K, 5K etc.) and a video stream online (for directors being far away on the phone or skype).
That would blow ANY competition away and it will be future-proof MC for a long time.

Is this encoding done from Adobe Mediaencoder ?

It works for me. As well as the previous one, 3.0.1.

Yes, I saw that you wrote that also in another thread, you have to be careful with your promises to the users on this forum, many of them are pros earning their living on this.
To answer the initial question and it is Adobe related, Adobe CS 5 might need the latest version 5 drivers to work best with the Max encoding, if you don´t have Adobe CS 5 installed or any other PC app that can use the Max encodings, do not update, use the driver that Avid provides into the Utilities/Matrox folder.
I am doing tests with driver 5 right now, on Pal Sd component out to my correction screen I am seeing the same colour previewing errors as with Matrox driver 3,01.
The workaround to have it going with driver 5 is the same as with driver 3,01, after upstart of Avid, do an HDMI calibration, your screen will blink and go black, press ok, wait for a couple of secs and then mouse click into your viewer, hopefully the screen will light up again with the correct colours.
This will work one time, if you lose the correct colours, you´ll have to restart your entire sys and redo this procedure to get the correct viewing back.
On Pal Hd, the previewing seems to work better, both with driver 3,01 and driver 5.
end of testresults ....
Sorry for not being specific. My tests are with a 1080 25p project and outputting in hdmi. It would be good that people who update to 5.0, post his results here with different project configurations.

That would be the same as starting beta testing quicktime versions and video driver versions on this forum, Avid is providing the correct drivers and info about what driver to use with what version so that users not should run into problems
works fine for me in MC5 and resolves 16/32bit after effects errors that occured due to the matrox driver.
so if you use anything else than 8bit in AE: install it
