Fastest way to Import HD ?

    Hello guys

I am running on a tight deadline and I was wondering what is the fastest way to import HD(.mov) on Avid 2,8

I tried importing with DV 25 420 MXF and 1 minutes and 20 seconds took me roughly 1 hour and 20 minutes.

I know that I am running a preety old version of Avid nevertheless any help would be sincerely appreciated.

Keep in mind that I am not aiming for quality since it is just for a preview so my only focus is how fast can the import be accomplished.

The viable formats are the following

    - DV 25 411 MXF

    -DV 25 420 MXF

    -DV 50 MXF

    -10:1m MXF

    -4:1m MXF

    -15:1s MXF

    -4:1s MXF

    -2:1s MXF

    -20:1 MXF

    -3:1 MXF

    -2:1 MXF

    -MPEG 30 MXF

    -MPEG 40 MXF

    -MPEG 50 MXF

    -1:1 MXF

    -1:1 10b MXF

Thanks in advance for your help

Re: Fastest way to Import HD ?

The quickest way is to import into the same codec as the HD file. For example, if it is an HD file in the DNxHD codec, then import it the same. Is there a particular reason why you are converting it to SD? it actually makes the process longer since it needs to do more math.

What codec and frame size is the original file?
