    Capture with Sony DV HC51e

    Hi,

Im using MC5 (on windows 7), and im trying to capture from my Sony mini-Dv HC51E.

Now, each time i install a new version of MC, the first time i plug my cam in, theres no problem,

but all the other times its just doesnt recognize the camera.

I've tried check decks\adujst decks\auto configure decks, and also installed a legacy driver for my Firewire port. also I tried to Manual configure it in deck prefernces with Generic Device, and still nothing.

Windows Movie maker capture the video with no problems.

    Any thoughts?

    thanks!

    Guy

Try to put a tape with the camera and MC closed.

Then open MC and Ctrl +7 to open the rec tool.

    Then open the camera.

Is the camera recognized by Windows?

Because if it isn't MC will never see it too.

    Hey!

Sverkalo, Windows 7 recognize's my camera yes.

I can capture with windows movie maker no problems.

Wil, I went to the link,

Now i tried everything there, that can be used with my mini DV sony.

The only thing that seemed to half-work is to turn on the camera, play the tape and then turn on MC turn on capture tool, and then MC recognized my camera but with a new problem.

The video and audio channels showed both EQ and i couldnt reset it to the firewire port, not on the video and not on the audio.

and it only lets me capture the audio, and then stops after a few minutes

I tried auto configure, adujst decks - EVERYTHING.

    any thoughts?

thanks alot for all the help!

Delete the decks and the channels and retry the check I told you.
