    Playback at about 40fps (PAL)

When editing a conversation, it's usually boring to listen to it normally (25fps), but double speed is often hard to understand (particularly for some directors Smile [:)]). A long time ago, editing on betacam sp I found that a speed of 1,5*-1,6* is good enough to understand and fast enough to stay awake Big Smile [:D] Still that time I miss the opportunity to speed up workflow this way, and would appreciate (at least as an option) to make this possible.

Good idea. This was once achieved with the shuttle command, which I think has been gone for some time now.

Would be great to have user defineable speed increments on J-K-L.

Currently, pressing J (or L) several times will result in 25-50-75-125 fps playback (in PAL, that is). Would be great if we could get set intermediate steps, especially a step around 40fps (36) would be nice for browsing through interviews.

Either that, or bring back something like the old MUI ;-)

This has been a request for a very long time. It would enhance productivity and give all avid editors a sense that they are editing in faster than real-time since they would be able to make decisions while listening to sound while the picture plays at 2x or more. There are features that give back time and ones that don't- this is one a winner, a no-brainer that seems to be well within reach.

I get pitch-shifted audio at 2x on my pc's DVD player and it is great.
