My sequences in any project are randomly "updated." There seems to be no pattern or reason. I've had it happen to sequences that don't even have any effects yet!

Did you create new settings when you installed MC5?

Was this project created in MC5 or a previous version?

I didn't create new settings....but I don't really want to do so because of the work involved. Project was started on 5

I feel your pain, but it's generally a good idea to create new user settings when going up a full version (from 4.x to 5.x, for example).

In order to narrow it down a bit, you could try creating a new user and see if the problem persists.  If it does you know user settings aren't the cause.  If the problem goes away, you know you need to take the time to recreate your user settings.

Creating new settings did not resolve it for me.

When you say "updated", what do you mean exactly.  When you made your new user, did you import old settings or totally start from scratch?  Have you tried making a new project and impotring the old bins into it?  have you tried deleting the project settings files?

A new sequence is auto created and "updated to advanced keyframes".  Not sure how that is needed since the project was created under MC5.

    Re: MC 5 processor usage??

You can add my name to the list of users who have the issue with the new sequence thingy.

Fresh install of MC5, new user profile, new project, new sequence containing only rough cuts, no FX.

Sometimes, randomly, when opening the project, MC5 will decide to update my sequence effects to advanced keyframes and create a new sequence.

You can add me to the list.  It is not a showstopper, but a nuisance

I first noticed this problem in MC 5.0.0.1 on a newly created Project under a newly created user.  I did a clean install of 5.0.1, and with a newly created user, the problem is back.

Yep.  Fully clean install with all new settings and all new project and now for no apparent reason new sequences are being created in the name of "updating to advanced keyframes"  This is a nuisance.

I humbly request that someone at Avid take note of this and fix it.

    Thank you
