I went back and changed my post. The mailings in July will be for those who buy the upgrade between June 10 and June 30. Those who already have bought should get their email next week.

I will say it here again, if history is an indicator, the release wil most likely not occur precisely at 12:30pm GMT-5. Please be patient and don't start posting "Where is it" if we slip the time a bit today.

IF we hit it, great. If not, it will be soon after.

    Re: Today's MC5 day...

OK, sounds to me as though the MC upgraders will (may) be offered the upgrade delivery before the Liquid mob, which, as they're probably longer standing (and bigger spending!) MC users than said Liquid mob, makes perfect sense to me.  If I were in charge and had to phase the 'release', that's what I'd do I think, to be fair.

So, I've told my fingernails to be patient...

    scrichton:

I'm a bit worried about all this now ... I have a student licence of 4 bought recently and a dongle ... but it would seem like my community account is all messed up. My email address says I have no products listed.

Does anyone know what I can do to rectfy this as the registration email's have no activation number to enter.

I have a 12 week window to make 14 music videos for my master's degree and really really need the new Avid AMA options to make this happen.

    Any enlightenment would be amazing.

    Thanks guys.

    Re: Today's MC5 day...

    Hello all -

My first post in the forum after a long time of lurking Wink

I registered my MC4 two days ago but never received a confirmation email. So I did it again today and this time the email arrived instantly.

Should I be able to see the successful registration somewhere in my profile? Because I don't (or maybe I am missing something?).

    Thank you!

If you have received a confirmation email, you are successfully registered. It will not show up in your profile. When you go to download MC 5, the website will check your system ID number to verify that you are qualified for the free download.

    Larry:

At the risk of playing the nag: question--

Is it safe to assume, as a properly registered "Liquid-to-MC4-migrant", the email I received today from news @info.avid.com offering MC-5 for sale does not signal that I have been overlooked for the free MC5 download? Another communication for that purpose is forthcoming, correct?

For the record I purchased the Liquid-to-MC4 uprade March 23rd.

    Regards,

    Stuart

    Re: Today's MC5 day...

Fear not, I received the same email announcement about 4 hours ago.

I just received another with an upgrade link, where I enter my system id and get taken to a download page.

    This is what is offered

    Download via web browser:

    • Download Avid Media Composer  5.0 for Windows XP
    • Download Goodies for Windows XP
    • Download the Sample Project/Media for Windows XP
      • Instructions for installing the Sample Project/Media for Windows XP

    I removed the links.
