PC or Mac for Media Composer 4 & 5

I am new to MC coming from FC and Liquid.  I took advantage of the Liquid upgrade regardless I will have to purchase a new computer.  I will have to either purchase a Mac Pro or build me a new PC.  I will be editing SD and AVCHD material and outputting it to DVD Blu-ray.  The PC would be using the Intel i7 CPU  and the Mac would be the Mac Pro One 2.66GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon. Any  advantage or dis-advantages?Smile

This can become a thread with as many opinions as users I believe, I just took the step to buy a MacBook Pro myself so now I am in both of the worlds.

For bd creation, there are currently better apps for PC I believe if you don´t want to invest in also an Adobe suite for your Mac, the bd creation apps brought with the Media Composer bundle are aimed for PC.

There are many people using the i7 with no problems. SD and DVD or BD is easy with Avid DVD

that comes with the 3rd party bundle when you buy the upgrade from Liquid.

For the time being AVCHD isn't easy with MC4, something that we expect to change witj MC5.

Now for the Mac I don't have a clue.

As already said at the Mac forum, please avoid to double post.

I will continue to answer you in this forum, if you are interested into going the Mac road with BD creation, this post might be of interest.

Thank you mjolnarn but I was trying to get feedback from Mac user also not just PC.  I am new to the forum.  If I place a post in the PC forum will others see it in the Mac forum also?
