Any tip on how to get smooth, clean edges from moving still images? I have a long series of stills and I want to perform some simple moves- but I get "sawteeth" on the edges. Is there a way to smooth the edges during movement without bringing the stills into After Effects or Motion?
1: BCC pan and Zoom.
2: Avid FX
3: You could use the moving still in conjunction with a Matte Key (with tracking?)
Thanks for the continued dongle support
Set the render quality in the effect to High Quality. There should be a HQ icon in the effect editor if you're using the 3D-warp effect to move them this will make a big difference.
Or do you mean using the Avid Pan& Zoom effect? In this case experiment with the different filtering settings, Gaussian is good for reducing sawteeth.
cheers,

I actually got this to work by switching to a 720p HD project. For some reason the 30i setting was giving me jaggies- the 720p is clean and sweet. Even the down convert to SD dvd holds up. I'm not sure why- maybe because it's the Dnx HD code vs the dv 1:1 ? Anyway- I'm glad i do not have to edit this 200 photo montage in AE or Motion
Are you then looking at your sequence in SD at some point? Of course HD will be better than SD, because you have more pixels to play with.
But if you're going to downconvert to SD again, I'd take a look to make sure that looked good as well.

Yup- I burned to a SD dvd and played back fine. The only other way i was able to get a clean edges was through Motion. But i can work much faster inside Avid with 3D warp moves and get what I need.
