    Fonts not cutting it?

So, desperate for some variety I downloaded some free fonts from cnet.

They're True Type Fonts and look good when in Marquee, but when I actually key them they don't seem to cut properly.

I'm guessing the Alpha channel sucks.

Anyone else experienced this, and is there a solution?

    Thanks in advance!

That's not the way that fonts work.  There is no alpha channel as such, it's created dynamically as required by the font handler and titling software on your system.  Those fonts may not have correct hinting, or the data may be in some other way corrupt, especially if they have been created by amateurs.

If you want to try another series of free fonts, go to Larabie Fonts and have a browse.  If you still have the same issues come back and we'll see what else to try.

Personally, I think that Ray Larabie should be given the Nobel Font prize.  And if there isn't one, why not?
