Hi,
I'am expiriencing a major problem. Somehow i cannot import and render files and effect on my project disc. However i have used the disc without any issues until now.
Whenever i try to import material i get the following exception:
"Exception: Cannot import a mixed resolution QuickTime movie"
When I select a local drive to load the material on it works fine. So the problem is not in the material itself. The possibilty of a broken disc is also ruled out because i have tested is with moving files and creating new text documents in which i put in text, saved it, and change it. Also there still something like 300 GB of free space on the disc.
Do you guys have a suggenstion of how i might try and fix this thing?
Thanks a lot in advance,
KT Postma
What do you mean by "Project Disk"? What kind of storage is that exactly? Also, what version of MC?

As a project disc i am using a External NTFS harddisc drive. All project media and files are on this harddisc.I am using Media Composer v2.8 althoug our other Avid System (MC 3.5) gives the same error on import.
Tanks,
KT
Without a third party interpreter, NTFS on a Mac is read only. You can't write to it.
[EDIT] But you're on a PC, so that's not it. How is that external drive connected?

What are the specifics of the QT file you're attempting to Import?

v4.0 was the first version available to support mixed resolutions.

I have the discdrive connected though USB 2.0
And the media i try to import has the following settings:AE outputted movie:1024 x 576 (square pixel)RGB+AlphaQuickTime Animation codec (Highest settings)
However i think the problem is not in the media i try to import. Because when i select to import of render on a local or another external disc drive it works fine. But in doing so you lose track of where the project is located and that might just end up in some nasty media offliners.
Thanks,

If I had a major problem the first thign I would do is call support. :)
Aside from that - have you checked this article?

Do you have enough space on the hard drive?
As stupid as this sounds, I once received that same error message when I was using a Unity....the workspace wasn't big enough. The error message didn't make any sense to me.
Try importing to another drive if you are low on space.
