I have Media Composer 3.1.3 and am trying to capture HDV Pal from a Sony hdr-fx7 camcorder to a Mac with OS 10.5.5. I have the the project settings at 1080i/50 and HDV, the camcorder is set export out HDV and I am using an iLink 4x9 firewire cable.
I have looked at multiple suggestions on the Internet such as not digitizing time code, which I have tried, digitizing with in and out points, etc., and none of them have worked so far. The digitizing always stops before getting through the entire tape.
Could someone please give me suggestions of what I might do to digitize this footage?
In your capture settings, under the "media files" tab, check the maximum (default) capture time and make sure it's long enough for what you have on tape.

You could also check digitise over timecode breaks (cant remember which setting file it's in)

I've had similar problems with capturing from a Sony HDV camera. For me, simply cleaning the tape heads using a Sony cleaning tape cleared up what otherwise seemed insurmountable timecode break problems (regardless of what I did with capture settings).
