This is the biggest Avid headache I've ever experienced. It's haunted this PC for years and I'm desperate for advice...
It started with Xpress Pro. Whenever the Audio Suite was launched, the system froze.
Eventually I bought the MC upgrade and it reverted to normal.
Except now upon launching Audio Suite, a DigiDesign popup appeared offering a 30 day free trial of 'Broadband Noise Reduction'. It took several clicks on 'no' to get rid of - and reappeared every time.
Then the screen freezing problem started again.
Then whole bins started to freeze when you opened them - the ones containing Audio Suite effects.
Someone advised installing a new interlock driver set:
http://community.avid.com/forums/p/42727/241518.aspx#241518
Sadly no effect.
Out of desperation I bought and installed v.4.
Now the Audio Suite loads fine... until the very last plugin, when the screen freezes - on the following familiar words:
'Loading plugins: Broadband Noise Reduction L.E. dp %90.
The other PC, using identical software and dongle works fine.
I'm at my wit's end. There's a ghost in the machine called 'Broadband Noise Reduction' and it won't go away..
Any help appreciated, please!

Just as postscript I found this in the archive:
http://community.avid.com/forums/p/29079/162207.aspx#162207
Uninstalled all the Broadband Noise Reduction Plugins as recommended.
Now it freezes on Loading plugins: Focusrite d2.dpm %92
What is it with theses Digidesign plugins!!?
Uninstalled Focusrite.. now it freezes on
Loading plugins: Lofi.dpm %93
And so on.
Could it be an individual plugin doing the corrupting.. or some deeper seated driver problem?
Anyone familiar with Audio Suite?
Hi Ya Joe....
I pinged Bruce who manages the digi community and he says:
- If you own an iLok license for DINR LE (same product as "Broadband Noise Reduction LE) then you should download the latest version: http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?navid=115&itemid=4341
- If you do not own an iLok license for DINR LE, then you just need to remove the "Broadband Noise Reduction... plug-in from their plug-ins folder".
You should remove all those plug-in's using add remove programs or remove the plug- in's manually. What happened here is you install a bunch of demo plug in's including Focusrite d2/d.
Remove all that stuff.

Lofi is part of the D-Fi plug-in suite of plug-ins:
D-Fi consists of these 4 plug-ins, which you would remove from your plug-ins folder:
Use Add/Remove programs to remove any plug-ins that you do not want on your system. To manually remove: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Digidesign\DAE\Plug-Ins
Or you can try updating the D-Fi suite by downloading v8.0, which does not require any authorization. Go to the D-Fi product section:
http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?navid=115&itemid=1009
Then downloading D-Fi v8.0 Windows

Bruce
Thanks Marianna, Bruce and others...
As I understand it we currently need to manually remove:
Broadband Noise Reduction
Focusrite d2/d
Other unspecified demo plugins from DINR LE ie 'that stuff' (??)
LoFi
RectiFy
SciFi
VariFi
Any advance on that, before we begin?
And purely out of interest, if these are pay-for plugins we don't need and haven't paid for...
Why are they on our system crashing the pc??
